Craft beer sois that don't care if you're local yet.

Why PHATTHANAKAN, why now

The heat remembers after you've gone. More slow nights waiting.

1. Samgyupsal Korean BBQ

This opens the course because it gives you time. No limit on how long you stay, which matters when the next stop is a bar where the conversation decides the closing time. The crew routes every night walk through a meal that lets you pace yourself, and unlimited Korean BBQ at this price point does that without making you calculate. It's the kind of first stop that doesn't push you out before you're ready to move.

Crew's note

The stools outside don't match. Nobody's counting.

2. 9 Charoen Local Craft Bar

The course ends here because this is where the route shifts from eating to sitting. A live music bar with a short beer list and bar seating that feels more like a living room than a venue. The crew saves this for last because once you're here, there's no reason to leave until you decide to. It's the kind of closer that doesn't announce last call.

Crew's note

The glass doesn't hide anything. Easier to walk in.

The walk between

The strip between them is quiet enough that you notice the air cooling down. A few shopfronts, a couple of parked bikes, the kind of block where the bars don't need signs to pull you in.

  • Start the BBQ earlier if you want the first round of trays without a wait, then take your time so you're not rushing into the next stop.
  • The bar works better as a second stop than a first: you'll want something in your stomach before you settle in for the long conversation.

FAQ

How much should I budget for both stops?
The BBQ runs 299 baht per person, plus 50 for drinks if you want them. The bar's pricing sits in the craft range, so expect to spend more per glass than you would at a regular pub, but the selection reflects that.
Is this route better for a group or can I do it solo?
Both stops welcome solo visitors: the BBQ gives you a table either way, and the bar seating at the second stop makes it easy to chat with whoever's next to you. Groups of two or three fit the route's rhythm best, but you won't feel out of place alone.
